The Westchester County Clerk of Courts is responsible for processing circuit court case records, among other duties. Court records are documents generated during legal proceedings, such as criminal case files, bankruptcy records, and records from family or probate court. They contain information about these legal proceedings, including names of the parties involved, dates of hearings, testimony and evidence, and rulings in cases. Court records are kept in office for a period of time and then disposed of or archived. Most are considered public records, though some information may be redacted when copies are provided to the public. In some cases, court records may be sealed and require a court order to access, but many others can be accessed easily online. The current Westchester County Clerk is Timothy C. Idoni.

Most Westchester County court records may be accessed online. The records date to the 18th century and are as recent as those entered by the Legal Division the week prior to the search. Legal records may be searched by record type (i.e. court record), name of a relevant party, or by file or index number. The searches may also be limited by specific date ranges. The portal also indicates where physical copies of records are held.
Court records may also be searched at the County Clerkâs office, ordered from the office, and requested by mail. There are in-office terminals where documents filed from 2002 to the present may be viewed. Certified copies may be requested at the Requisitions Counter. Documents from cases started before 2002 should be requested in advance. The Office is open weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Copies of records may incur a fee.
