You need proper identification, such as a driver’s license or passport. You must be a party to the action or the attorney of record to access a divorce file. If you are not a party or the attorney, you must furnish a notarized release from one of the parties to the action.

The fee for a divorce decree is $1.25 per page with a minimum fee of $5.00 and a maximum fee of $40. If you want to mail your request, enclose a check payable to the Westchester County
Clerk. If you do not know the case number, there will be an additional $5.00 fee for the search. Mail requests to:

Marriage records can be found at Vital Records. They have stored marriage records since 1880 for marriage licenses purchased in New York State, including Westchester County. Copies of marriage records are also available from the town or city clerk where you purchased an original
license.

You can get a certified copy of marriage records if you are a spouse, documented judicial or for other proper purposes, New York State Court Order. You will also need a valid photo ID plus
a utility telephone bill or letter from a government agency dated within the last six months.

Fees are $45 for online or phone orders or $30 for mail orders. You can print a request form online at thehealth.ny.gov/vital-records website. Mail forms to
